Choosing Filling Foods
We’re wrapping up the first month of Get Slim for Summer, and this is the perfect time to transform your life physically. We hope you’re participating with us!
As you transform your life, the way you eat will have a big impact on your health. At Yoli, we know that the last thing you want is to feel hungry all the time. That’s why today, we’re going to talk about choosing filling foods!
If you’ve ever worked to change the way you eat before, you’re probably aware that not all foods affect your body in the same way. You can eat an entire bag of potato chips and still feel hungry, but a healthy meal of baked chicken, asparagus, and sweet potatoes can easily satisfy your appetite.
That’s because nutrient-dense foods tend to be more filling in general. Foods that offer empty calories and are packed with added sugar tend to be less satisfying. That’s why it’s so easy to overeat things like junk food. As you work to transform your life, focus on choosing healthier, nutrient-dense foods that help you feel full longer!
The meal plan for the Transformation Kit is centered around protein, which is great news if you’re working to transform your life. Lean protein is great because it helps you build and maintain lean muscle mass, but it also tends to be filling! Some common examples of lean protein include:
- Lean beef
Complex carbohydrates tend to be more filling than simple carbs. They have more fiber, which boosts feelings of satisfaction and fullness. Here are some good examples of complex carbohydrates:
- Whole-grain breads
- Brown rice
- Sweet potatoes
Healthy fats, which includes polyunsaturated fats, monounsaturated fats, and omega-3 fatty acids, can be a powerful tool in satisfying your appetite. Good sources of healthy fats include:
- Natural nut butters
- Dairy products
Choosing filling foods will make it much easier to stay on track as you transform your life physically, so we encourage you to make it a priority. For more tips for reaching your health goals, subscribe to the blog and check out our Facebook page!
